Chiropractic care isn't a pain

RICHARD STENNING established Chiropractic Care in Honiton 10 years ago with the aim of offering quality care to the local community.

"We provide chiropractic care for all, young and old," said Richard, a member of the British Chiropractic Association. "Chiropractic is the best way of dealing with general aches and pains, as well as musculoskeletal problems such as bad backs and necks."

The practice has adopted an integrated approach when working with patients.
"I have three other chiropractors working with me, and we've introduced physiotherapy into the rehabilitation stage of our treatments," said Richard, who added that the combination of the two disciplines can aid recovery time.
"It's all part of our holistic approach. Each patient will find their care individualised to them, with the aim of treating the person as a whole and not just their symptoms."
All care is agreed between the chiropractor and the patient. "They can choose between short term pain relief or optimum corrective care," said Richard. "Chiropractic includes specific joint manipulation, joint mobilisation and soft tissue work such as massage, and we won't carry out any treatment until the patient is happy."

Richard himself is also one of only 12 qualified Sunflower Therapy specialists in the country. "It's a treatment method specifically geared towards children with learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyspraxia," he said. "It's a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of health and learning problems."

Chiropractic Care is open all day Monday to Friday, and has morning sessions every other Saturday. Contact them on 01404 549270.
